Son Luxe - Video

A selection of new music and videos

It’s that time again – we’ve been digging around the four corners of the web to find some more suitable treats and serve up a fresh selection of music videos. This latest batch certainly reflects the tip of an iceberg of talent out there.

Son Lux – Change Is Everything

A clever and slick use of stop-motion animation that hinges on the use of pins and thread to create moving vector-like shapes: the beauty here lies in the simplicity of the technique and stripped back nature of the black and white colour scheme that flows on from scene to scene – directed by Nathan Johnson.

Jamie xx – Gosh

Taken from his new album Jamie xx’s unleashes “Gosh”, calling on the talents of Erik Wernquist to direct this amazingly subtle video that’s all about the slow burn of outer space, shifting scenes captured from our solar system – simple yet effective.

Todd Terje – Alfonso Muskedunder

The ever playful Todd Terje calls upon the talents of Bendik Kaltenborn and Espen Friberg to create this skillfully animated piece for “Alfonso Muskedunder” – a strangely uplifting ditty taken from his album. The duo’s dutifully playful style works in perfect harmony, illustrating Terje’s vision of a fun filled cosmos.

Phantoms – Voyeur

Ace Norton directs this black and white video for electro pop outfit Phantoms. A tale of a failed ballet audition that evolves into spooky hoedown with overtones of Thriller (?) – the exceptional choreography and effortless production makes this enjoyable viewing.
