Tarquin & Jammz - Sly One

A selection of new music and videos

The quantity of new music and videos that get uploaded to internet on a daily basis is vast.

If you tried to start watching it all, you’d be fighting a losing battle to say the least (not to mention give yourself a headache in the process).

From our perspective, what we find impressive is the quality of creative work and level of artistic endeavour that goes into making music videos; and just how much great content there is to watch out there.

By picking out a small selection that we think deserves at least some of your attention, we hope you’ll find it a little easier to get some visual inspiration and enjoy the fun.

Here’s our roundup of new music and videos that we wanted to share, what you choose to watch however is your call:

FKA twigs – Cellophane

Experimental filmmaker Andrew Thomas Huang takes on the making of FKA Twigs latest video “Cellophane” – a stunning and surreal visual play on the role of a performer and their place on stage.

Tarquin & Jammz – Sly One

With a great mix of visuals and simple concept that runs throughout this video for Tarquin and Jammz’s track, “Sly One.” This punchy cut is directed by S.A.D aka Scott Taylor, Andrew Shrubsole and Doug Stewart).

Colorado – Stay Strong

A thoughtful collection of experimental visuals for Stay Strong by Colorado, directed by Los Angeles-based film maker Patrick Mattes. Shot on Super 8, the video was inspired by Aja Malghan’s explorations with film destruction and damaging the film (after it was shot and before it was developed): most definitely pushing the limits of what can be captured.

No Vacation – Yam Yam

Soak up the simple and effect mix of stills, animation and film that make up the video for the dreamy pop of “Yam Yam” by No Vacation, led by San Francisco-based directorial duo – Luke Lasley and Patrick Sean Gibson.
