A selection of new music and videos

New music videos we bookmarked and liked…

Music and video can be a potent mix in the right hands, don’t just take our word for it. Look around ! The amount of new music videos getting uploaded and beamed across the web on a daily basis is vast – it suffices to say keeping up is not really something we’d recommend.

Dip your toe across Youtube, Instagram, Vimeo, Tiktok, Snap Chat and the likes, and you’ll find yourself quickly consumed amongst a sea of an ever growing pulsating hive of zeros and ones. All the major platforms are positively hustling to grab what’s left of your precious attention and reel you in.

From skimming the surface though, the one thing that does jump out is just how much great talent and material there is out there.

Watch our latest picks

As ever, the level of quality and creative effort directors and artists put in to their work is as immense as it is inspiring.

We’ve honed in on a small selection of new music and videos we think deserve at least some of your ear and eye time. Hopefully, you’ll find it a little easier to get some inspiration of your own and at the very least – join in the fun.

Tangerine Dream – You’re Always On Time

Taken from the new Tangerine Dream album ‘Raum’, ‘You’re Always On Time’ is the infamous band’s latest  release.

Documenting field recordings and sample creation behind their album, the video was shot on Kodak Super-8 film: a homage to Edgar Froese’s Super-8 videos which he filmed whilst on tour and in the studio with the band.

Bonobo – Shadows (feat. Jordan Rakei)

Bonobo releases a video for ‘Shadows’, a track taken from his new album ‘Fragments’ that landed in January 2022 on Ninja Tune.

Under the direction of the most excellent BWTV, the visual elements chart a subtle narrative that compliment the lyrics, echoing a life lived in the shadows. All brought together in a kaleidoscopic blend and mix of the abstract – flowing perfection.

Whatever The Weather – 17ºC

Loraine James joins Ghostly to launch her ‘Whatever The Weather’ project – a trip into the lighter side of her experimental moods.

“17ºC” takes in a trip to the wilderness, as a young woman pops and bops as swirling UFOs and galaxies blur above her. A sumptuous reflection on our freedom to dance surrounded by the power of nature, all punctuated in this stunning visual compostion.

Honey Dijon feat. Dave Giles II, Cor.Ece & Mike Dunn – ‘Work’

The inimitable and totally mesmerising Honey Dijon is back with the fourth single from her forthcoming LP ‘Black Girl Magic’. Teaming up with some of Classic Music Company’s nearest and dearest for an authoritative collaboration.

Combining the full leather and lip gloss combo – this beast goes straight for the jugular. Strut, you know what’s up. What’s there not to like?

Nightmares On Wax – Wonder

Directed by Sean Frank, Nightmares On Wax drop the dulcet tones of Wonder – featuring the talents of Shabaka Hutchings and Haile Supreme. A deep and charming introspective, examining the connection that exists at any given time, for the amount of time between souls who intertwine. The video captures playful moments and how we never realise their impact, until that moment or physical connection has gone.
