Innate Playlist 009: Eli Verveine shines a light on the sounds of Switzerland

Swiss selector Eli Verveine takes us on a tour of prime electronic cuts from her home country

If you’ve yet to discover the magic of Eli Verveine’s record selecting, you won’t be disappointed to learn that for as long as she’s been mixing – she’s always strived to find the perfect groove. Her sound encompasses a smooth-blend that always keep you moving and dancefloors alight in the small hours.

As someone who learned her skills over the years warming up the dancefloor of Zurich’s infamous underground clubs, she’s developed into a leading peak-time DJ who also still loves to play extended after-hours sets like those laid down at the legendary Dachkantine in the 00s. With a vast knowledge that spans deep house, techno, warped electronica, acid, electro, left-of-centre broken grooves and beyond: her real gift is the ability to uncover overlooked gems. Whether they were made in the last two weeks or two decades ago – she never fails to impress. Eli maintains strong links with her local scene in Zurich as well as holding a longstanding residency at Zukunft, also finding the time to run Tardis Records together with her good friend and ally Oscar Schubaq.

With such strong roots in Switzerland’s homegrown scene, we couldn’t think of a better person to ask to compile our next playlist and shine a light on the wealth of talent that emanates from all 4 corners of this small country. Enjoy her selection of 33 cuts made up of artists from her home country:
